Waxed is a partnership between two long time friends with a love for coffee, travel and surfing. After many visits to Hossegor on surf trips, searching for the perfect cup of coffee, Cai and Will decided to start a business aiming to achieve a lifelong goal of providing a modern experience of coffee culture in a world class surf destination. With strong connections throughout Europe, Waxed supports local businesses for fresh produce, as well as roasteries from across Europe providing sustainable, high quality coffee beans. Waxed is an environmentally friendly business that focuses on getting the small things perfect before expanding.
We’re using the La Marzocco Linea Classic. We decided on this machine because of its reputation to extract the perfect cup, every time. The Linea Classic is a “specialty coffee icon that never goes out of style”. After regularly visiting the Allpress Roastery and Café on Brick Lane, we discovered their connection with surf culture and believed they would be the ideal roasters to use in our shop. Using high grade Arabica beans and innovative roasting technology, Allpress’s signature espresso blend “Red Church” is a medium roast comprising of Brasil, Santalina, Columbia, Pescador, Guatemala and Huehuetenango and Sumatra Mandheling.
We work with locally sourced, fresh produce to create our dishes. Our menu includes brunch style avocado and poached egg on toast, fresh fruit smoothie granola bowl (no refined sugars), overnight soaked oats in coconut yogurt with raspberry coulis and other health conscious, tasty options.
